The Morrison Slide Trail is a bit more difficult than the Red Rocks and Cherry Gulch Trails, featuring steep ascending and descending switchbacks, often on rocky, loose terrain. We will then ascend the rocky Dakota Ridge Trail - which requires some minor scrambling in a few places - before eventually looping back down to the trailhead. Along the way, we will enjoy multiple scenic overlooks and points of interest.
We will meet at the Matthews/Winters Park Trailhead 1103 County Highway 93 Golden, CO at 7:45 A.M. for an 8:00 A.M. departure.
Required Equipment
There are very few trees and not much shade so bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, & lip balm, along with the the other Ten Essentials. Recommend sturdy footwear, and hiking poles if you use them.
