Silverheels Ridge hike-EXPLORATORY-This hike is ascending part way up Mount Silverheels on the ridge.. We will ascend to an elevation of somewhere between 12,500 and 13,000 ft and enjoy the views. Beginning at the Gold Dust Trail, ascending the Trout Creek Trail and northeast ridge. 9 miles round trip and, about 2,800 ft elev. gain. Moderate overall moving pace 1.8 mph. Participants must have recently ascended several trips with at least 2,700 ft elevation gain and at altitude above 12,000 ft. PLEASE READ LEADER NOTES BELOW BEFORE SIGNING ON TO THIS TRIP.

 Participants should be acclimated to an altitude of 12,000 ft and have recently spent time above 12,000 ft before trying this hike.

The goal of this trip is to explore the lower half of Silverheels Ridge via the Trout Creek trail.  We will be off trial when we are on the ridge.
