Let's meet at the Visitor's Center Parking Lot in Mueller State Park at 9:30 am.   State Park fees for cars are $10, if you don't have a state parks pass.

***Please note - If we have enough snow this hike may become a snowshoe.****

We can carpool to the trailhead parking lot near the Camper Services building and the start of Trail #13 - Black Bear.  We'll descend Trail #13 to Trail #12 - Homestead - hiking through meadow and forested areas, ascend through Trail #16 - Grouse Mountain Overlook - to the high point of the park - Grouse Mountain.  We'll return via the same route.

Please bring your 10 essentials along with warm layers, ice walkers/microspikes,  at least       1 1/2- 2 liters of water and ample food.  You may also need to bring your snowshoes if conditions warrant.

Driving Directions from Colorado Springs: Take Hwy. 24 west to Divide.  Turn left at the light onto Hwy. 67 south.  Drive approximately 3 miles south on Hwy. 67 to the entrance to Mueller State Park. (You will see the John Wesley Camp entrance on your right north of Mueller.  If you go past the Crags Campground sign/turn off on the left hand side of Hwy. 67, you've gone too far.) Turn right into Mueller driving up the narrow, winding, paved road to the Visitor's Center.

Should you wish to carpool, I can meet you at the Red Rocks Safeway, 3275 W. Colorado Avenue in Colorado Springs at 8:30 am.  You'll need to contact by 7 pm the night before the hike.
