Hiking – Orbital Trail - Segment 28

For Rocky Mountain Over the Hill Gang members ONLY. We will hike Segment 28 of the Denver Orbital Trail (DOT) south to north. We will start in Vanover Park in Golden then walk to North Table Mountain. PLEASE NOTE that there is some scrambling as we climb from the North Table Mountain trail UP a "Climbing Access" area to the North Table Mountain Loop trail. We then will make our way around the east side of Table Mountain and down to Fairmont Canal Trail to W 64th Parkway.

We will start in Vanover Park in Golden then walk through neighborhoods on the paved Tucker Gulch and Clear Creek trails to North Table Mountain.  PLEASE NOTE that there is some scrambling as we climb from the North Table Mountain trail UP a "Climbing Access" area to the North Table Mountain Loop trail.  We follow the trail around the eastern side of North Table Mountain and then go down to follow the Fairmont Canal Trail through Long Lake Regional Park to W 64th Parkway.

There are bathrooms at the beginning and end.

Carpool: Since the distance between trailheads is short and several of us will be driving, there will be no carpool cost sharing.  

We will meet at 9:00am at the Arvada Reservoir Entrance parking lot, 18915 W 64th Pkwy, Arvada, CO 80403.  https://maps.app.goo.gl/LT183JhtxSEYaUPc6  We will then carpool to our starting spot at Vanover Park in Golden.

Required Equipment: Dress appropriately for the weather, including sunscreen and a hat.  Bring a snack/lunch and plenty of water.    If you use hiking poles, bring them.
