Hiking – Rosalie Peak - Tanglewood Creek Trail and Pegmatite Points

This is a great workout that climbs a 13er in a beautiful location. We follow a lush creek, break out above tree line gaining Roosevelt Lakes pass, then head over tundra to a wonderful view of the entire front range.

Plan on a longer day. We are leaving early to avoid chances of weather hindering us. The trail is good, in places though hard to find for various reasons you will see! Have the 10 essentials, plenty of food and water. I have tried climbing it many times this year and only one summit, took me 7 hours. That was with new snow on the trail. Many other attempts but because of conditions did not make it. I expect it to go much better this time!

We will be leaving at 6 am from the Twin Forks PNR near Tiny Town. Head SW on 285 at the C470-285 junction near the town of Morrison. After passing the turnoff to Indian Hills it is the 2nd left, maybe a mile up the road. It is a small lot on the left, usually pretty empty. You can find exact direction in iMaps/Google Maps.
