Trip
Hiking – South Platte Park
We will hike along the Platte River, mostly in the South Platte Park Natural Area, see birds (waterfowl, raptors, turkeys, songbirds) and have a terrific view of the Front Range with a few snow covered peaks in the distance. This is a perfect hike for those who have been off the trails for awhile and want a re-introduction to hiking with the RMOTHG.

We will hike as close to the river's edge as possible, leaving the Mary Carter Greenway concrete trail whenever possible. The terrain on the "fisherman's trail" may be a bit rocky in places so hiking poles may helpful. The Cottonwood and Wetlands habitat will be a beautiful respite from busy city sidewalks.
Please bring plenty of water, snacks, personal first aid kit, ID and medical card. We will eat lunch at tables near the trail head after we complete our hike. If the weather turns too cool to linger another option is to have lunch at the Breckenridge Brewery nearby.
Please advise leader of any relevant heath concerns.
