We'll take a double lollipop route around the top of South Table Mountain with our primary objective being two overlooks on the East and West sides.

Carpool Place & Time: Meet at CMC Building Parking Lot in Golden at 7:30AM for a 7:45AM departure (Colorado Mountain Club - Google Maps)

We'll carpool to the Fossil Trailhead Parking on Golden Hills Rd (Fossil Trail Trailhead - Google Maps)

This hike is for RMOTHG members only

Our hike will begin at the Fossil Trailhead parking area. From the trailhead we'll enjoy a modest ascent of ~200 ft over the first mile. When we reach the top of the mesa we'll head north along the Fossil Trail. We'll then head east along the Quarry Trail to Carl's Point as an out-n-back, returning to the Fossil Trail (about 3 miles RT). We'll continue west along the Quarry Trail finding our way to Castle Rock. We'll find our way back to the Fossil Trailhead along the Quarry, Augite, and Serpentine Trails. We'll find a sunny spot for lunch/snack along the way. Our pace will be comfortable for all group members. This hike is ~8 miles and ~600 ft elevation gain. (South Table Mountain - Loop 2 - CalTopo)
