The wind may be the biggest factor where we ski without the protection of the trees. The views should be inspiring. We start at ~10,800', its rated challenging due to that factor alone and not the pace. We'll have a bio break at Georgetown's visitors center and begin our ski at the pass road closure. At the summit we'll enjoy a bit of lunch and the views. There will an opportunity for apres ski refreshments on the way back home.
The CMC's Bobcat section provides an opportunity to make new friends and explore new places in Colorado's backcountry at a pace that's best for you. Pick one of their trips where you feel the pace will suit you and enjoy. There are no dues or elections. Open to all CMC members.
We'll meet at Wooly Mammoth Park-N-Ride - Google Maps (Section BB - across from gas station) at 7:40 am for an expected 7:45 departure.
Required Equipment
10 essentials. Neck gaitor & wind protection important. Goggles work better than glasses in strong wind.
