Trip
RMOTHG Trip – Corral Bluffs Open Space
For ROCKY MOUNTAIN OVER THE HILL GANG members only. If you enjoyed the guest speaker at last year’s annual meeting, you might enjoy this hike. This will be a guided hike with a naturalist pointing out the highlights of the area. “This area is regionally significant because its extensive natural outcrops are the best exposures of Late Cretaceous and Early Paleocene strata in the Denver Basin. It likely represents one of the top 20 sites in the world for the preservation of the first 1 million years of the age of mammals”.

Be prepared for a 4 mile off-trail hike over uneven terrain. This shouldn't be an issue for CMC members but they require walking shoes with good tread - no open-toed, shoes, Crocs or sandals. You MUST wear long pants with no exposed ankles.
There will be 2 waivers that we each need to sign. I will send those out to hikers with my pre-hike email.
Thank you to Colleen Miller for arranging this hike with the Corral Bluffs staff.

Bring sunscreen and a hat. You'll want plenty of water (they recommend a minimum of 1 liter). There will be a break time so bring a snack. As always, it's a good idea to have layers.
We will be hiking on uneven ground so bring hiking poles if you use them.
