Corral Bluffs Open Space
Corral Bluffs Open Space features extensive natural outcrops exposing the best Late Cretaceous and Early Paleocene strata in the Denver Basin. It likely represents one of the top 20 sites in the world for the preservation of the first 1 million years of the age of mammals
Owned and operated by the City of Colorado Springs, Corral Bluffs Open Space is an active research site and may be explored only on a ranger-guided hike.
In 2025, hikes are offered on the first Saturday and third Friday of each month, from June through October. Registration opens two weeks prior to each scheduled hike, and space is limited, so be sure to reserve early.
