We will be hiking several trails to enjoy a variety of views from the canyon rims, including exposed hoodoo rock formations, and dramatic canyon cliffs. (NOTE: This hike was added to accommodate the long standby list from the 10/29/26 Lost Canyon Ranch hike by adding a second trip to the same location on 11/05/26. People from the 10/29/26 hike standby list were added to the roster for the 11/05/26 hike before it opened for registration.)

Lost Canyon Ranch is a brand-new Open Space in Castle Rock, having just opened to the public in July.  It is known for its rock hoodoos and canyon rims. 

Much of this hike is on hard rock trails.  There are also a few places where there are some rock steps to go up and down as well.  Due to the uneven hard rock surfaces and rock steps, trip participants should have a good sense of balance on this type of terrain.  Sturdy shoes and hiking sticks are highly recommended, too.

We will meet at the Cabela's parking lot in Lone Tree to form carpools at 8:00 AM for a prompt departure. We will gather at the north end of the lot.  Do not park near the restaurant or hotels.  https://maps.app.goo.gl/L5h77dsy2vjMmfiNA
