RMOTHG Trip – Windy Point Trail - Dillon Reservoir
This is a fun and easy hike at the scenic Windy Point on Dillon Reservoir. We'll go at a nice casual pace, enjoy the views and have a snack or lunch at the east end of the trail.

Windy Point is tucked away from the bikes and traffic noise on the south side of Dillon Reservoir, just off of Swan Mountain Road. This is an easy and slow-paced hike that follows the shoreline. We'll enjoy the scenic views of the lake and the surrounding 14ers.
Bring a snack or lunch to enjoy at the east end of the trail along the lake. Watch for the pre-trip email on Tuesday evening.

The distance to the trailhead is 60 miles. Bring $9.00 for carpooling. We should be back around 1:00-2:00pm.
Directions to TH (please notify leader if you do not plan on meeting at Woolly Mammoth.)
From Frisco/I-70 take Exit 203, Frisco/Breckenridge, and travel 4 miles on Highway 9 through the town of Frisco. Turn left on Swan Mountain Road and go about 3 miles to the Swan Mountain Recreation Area, the turn-off will be on your left. Parking is immediately on your right before the gate. From Silverthorne/I-70 take Exit 205, Silverthorne/Dillon. Travel 4 miles east on HWY 6 through the town of Dillon. Turn right on Swan Mountain road and drive 2 miles to Swan Mountain Recreation Area which will be on your right. Parking is immediately on your right before the gate. Park in the area designated for day hikers - do not park in the campsites.
Required Equipment
In addition to the 10 essentials. bring bug spray, sunscreen, hat, and at least 1.5 liters of water.
