Rock Climb – Elevenmile Canyon

As the weather moves towards the sunny summer weather, let's get out and climb in ElevenMile Canyon (near Lake George, CO) at ElevenMile Dome. (Must have CMC’s Intermediate Rock Climbing” Badge or equivalent to sign up) The Dome is mostly sport climbing, but does offer a few Trad and Multipitch routes, with a minimum approach.

Pikes Peak Group (PPG) Climbing Members have sign-up priority for this trip.

MUST HAVE: CMC's "intermediate rock climbing badge" or equivalent (If you do not have this, do not sign up for this trip! However, if you are an experienced climber and want this Badge, please reach out to me and we can schedule an equivalency waiver prior to trip) 

Would like (but not necessary): Lead-belay, rappelling and 'various' cleaning skills (Mussy Hooks aren’t always available on these climbs)

MUST DO: Stay within your realm of comfort/training/knowledge; knots in the ends of your ropes!!

There is NO cell service inside the canyon.

Meet at the parking area of the crag at 9am (38.945328, -105.392087).

Access cost: $11-$12 cash per car (some interagency passes gets in 1/2 price -- Does NOT accept state park passes)

Carpool:

7:45am at the Old Colorado City Safeway (3275 W Colorado Ave, 80904)

or

8:35am Dirt lot parking prior to canyon access road (38.968794, -105.362849) -- we can always pack in cars to gain access to canyon.

If carpooling, please bring cash for gas and access to canyon. And notify me at least 1-day prior to trip if planning to meet us at a carpool location.

Personal Climbing gear (at minimum): helmet, harness, ATC with locker, PAS, and climbing shoes

Bring (if have): quickdraws, 70m+ rope, anchor and any other gear you think you would like to bring or use (i.e. GriGri, Trad gear/aid/ascenders, chalk, clip stick, rocky talkies etc)

10 essentials: snacks, water, and sun protection
