Rock Climb – Red Rock Canyon Open Space

After Work Rock Climb, in Colorado Springs, meet at 4:30pm or after -- Must have earned CMC's "Intermediate Rock Climbing Badge" or equivalent to sign-up. Will recommend a different climbing crag each time; but take consensus of the group for crag at meeting location.

  • Mileage: 2.0 mi

Must have: CMC's “Intermediate Rock Climbing Badge” or equivalent.  Must have the "Basic" knowledge of safe top-rope belay skills; but, leading/cleaning/advance rock skills are always welcomed.  Come out and climb as hard or as easy as you like (or whatever we can find to climb that’s available).

Great place to work on your footwork; come out and let's have a "Slab-tastic" climbing evening.

NOTE (Cleaning Anchors): Most climbs in this canyon are locally considered as: "clean by rappel"; however, there are now some mussy hooks available (thanks to the tireless efforts of our local PPCA); and we will honor whatever you feel safest using, if applicable.

Meet at the (climber's) parking lot, North of the park -- farthest East parking lot accessed from Ridge Rd off Hwy 24 at 4:30pm (googlemaps: 38.851384, -104.878495 ).  This is precipitation-weather dependent, and subject to be cancelled or moved depending on weather...  But, if sun is out and rock is dry, it'll more than likely go.  We will hike in together and decide on which crag to climb, while chasing some shade (or sun)...  If there are numerous crowds at the crags, we will venture deeper into the area, with possible scree hiking (round-trip) approx 4 miles.

*If you arrive after, please reach out before hand, and we will meet you at the crag…
