Avalanche Creek
Avalanche Creek Trail is in the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness Area. It provides access to many other trails in the Wilderness.
AllTrails says Avalanche Creek Trail (#1959) (also labeled on some maps as Silver Creek Trail or as Avalanche Lake Trail) is one of the more challenging trails in the area but completely worth the extra effort for the views and scenery. The trail begins at the southernmost end of the Avalanche Campground, level at the start but quickly gaining altitude. Aspen, roaring creeks and waterfalls are all visible. The total trail length one-way is 22.4 miles, 6128' gain, ending at Avalanche Lake.
