The trail starts at the Wheeler Flats TH across from Copper Mountain Resort, and climbs up into the Eagles Nest Wilderness. We pass beautiful flowering meadows and enjoy the view west to Vail pass and south over the Ten mile range. After hiking through a pine forest the trail opens up to a serene setting with view of the lake and the view to the north of Uneva Peak and the Gore Range .
