BPX 3-Day: Mirror Lake From Corral Creek TH (RMNP)
A 12.4 mile out and back backpack to Mirror Lake from Corral Creek Trailhead in Rocky Mountain National Park. It is a beautiful and lesser-traveled trek offering stunning alpine scenery.
Suggested Backpacking Section (BPX) itinerary for 3-day trip to be used for CMC trips led by BPX leaders for BPX members.
Day 1: Hike from Corral Creek TH along the Corral Creek Trail (#989) for 1.4 miles to the intersection with the Big South Trail (#944). Turn right and follow the Poudre River Lower Trail for 0.4 miles to the intersection with the Mummy Pass Lower Trail. Turn left and follow the Mummy Pass Lower Trail for 2.9 miles. At the intersection with the Mirror Lake Trail turn left and follow it for 1.5 miles to Mirror Lake (6.2 miles, +1,580 / -584 ft.)
Day 2: Optional day hike to/from Comanche Peak (Elevation 12,690 ft.)
Optional Day Hike: Comanche Peak (6.75 miles, +-2,326 ft.)
Day 3: Break camp and hike out to Corral Creek TH (6.2 miles, +584 / -1,580 ft.)
Overall Route: 12.4 miles, +-2,173 ft.

- Comanche Peak is the highest named summit in the Comanche Peak Wilderness and sits on the boundary of the wilderness and Rocky Mountain National Park to the south. Comanche Peak offers a variety of climbing options, which range from a class 1 walkup to a class 3 scramble. Some of Comanche Peak's greatest features are the incredible views it offers from its summit. The entire Mummy Range spreads out to the south and east and nearly all the summits are visible.
