2-Day: Brady Lake from Sopris Lake TH

Short overnight trip with an out and back hike up to Brady Lake near Homestake Reservoir in the Holy Cross Wilderness. Enjoy great scenery, fishing, and explore the surrounding area. Total 3 miles and 900 ft elevation gain.

Suggested Backpacking Section (BPX) itinerary for 2-day trip to be used for CMC trips led by BPX leaders for BPX members: 

Day 1:  Drive to Sopris Lake Trail Head. Hike on Sopris Lake Trail (#2132) to Brady Lake. Set up camp near the lake then relax and explore the area. (approx.1.5 miles/900 feet)

Day 2:  Break camp and hike back to trail head. (1.5 miles/0’)

Driving Directions: From Denver area, drive west on I-70 to exit 171 (past Vail),  Take US 24 E, 17.4 miles to Homestake Reservoir Rd, continue 7.8 miles to Missouri Creek Rd., Take Missouri Creek Rd. 2.2 miles to Missouri Lakes Trailhead, Turn left and go past the trailhead, road turns into 4x4 at this point. Travel 1.2 miles to Sopris Lake trail head.
