Button Rock Trailhead

Button Rock Preserve. is located in a quiet river valley about 7 miles west of Lyons. Enter this walk-in only preserve from this Trailhead.

Start at the Button Rock TH parking lot along Longmont Dam Road, CR-80.  

See Longmont's info about the Preserve here. Check there for seasonal and permanent closures. No dogs. 

Alternate Titles:

Buttonrock Bump  - A unique peak (7196') in the Button Rock Preserve. Hike WSW along the road, turn up Button Rock Road and about half a mile up proceed west off trail.  A suggested track is here - 6 miles, 1600' gain.

Button Rock LoopA fun loop with excellent views of RMNP.  Button Rock Mountain is outside the Button Rock Preserve but start at the Button Rock Trailhead. AllTrails map here, as there are many intersecting trails along the way up, making it easy to take a wrong turn - 8.5 miles, 1500' gain.

North Shore Trail - This quiet trail follows the shoreline of Ralph Price Reservoir.   AllTrails map here - 7.7 miles, 905' gain.

Coffintop Mountain - Hike to the summit (8,049') from the Button Rock Trailhead.  Continue to follow the road on foot, which offers scenic views of the reservoir and surrounding mountains. Parts of this trip enter USFS land.  AllTrails map here - 6.8 miles, 2,200' gain.
