Hagerman Peak

Hagerman (13,841ft) is 0.6m from the 14er Snowmass Mtn but seldom done together due to a difficult connecting ridge. The rock, as with most all Elk Mountain Peaks, is loose and dangerous. Ranks #88 in the Centennial Peaks.

Hagerman Peak is normally climbed from one of two different trailheads and both have excellent high alpine lakes to camp at before setting off for the summit.  First, Crystal trailhead is the most direct and popular for Hagerman.  The trailhead is at 9,000ft and is used for routes on the Hagerman's south and west sides.  4X4's will get you closer to Geneva lake and higher up in elevation.  Second, Snowmass Creek Trailhead is the same trailhead hikers use for the 14er Snowmass Mtn and starts at 8,400 feet.
