Dillon Nature Preserve
The Dillon Nature Preserve (DNP) is located just off the Summit County Rec Path between Dillon and Swan Mountain Rd. Free parking is available in a lot off US Highway 6. The DNP provides access on a gravel road to end of the Roberts Tunnel peninsula on Lake Dillon Reservoir. There are multiple trail options from the gravel road.
Year-round use includes hiking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. The Meadow Trail and the Ridge Trail Loop are trail options in addition to the gravel road. Bikes are not allowed. Many users take fishing gear or dogs for a side-romp in Lake Dillon. For more info, see https://www.townofdillon.com/parks-rec/nature-preserve
The Meadow Loop and Ridge Trails provide 3.2 miles of easy snowshoeing or hiking, with 475' gain. There is a short steep incline, a saunter through the woods, and views from cliffs to Lake Dillon and Tenmile and Gore Ranges.
