Fletcher Mountain
A steep but short hike to the 10th highest 13'er in Colorado, located west of Quandary Peak, in the Tenmile Range.
|
To reach the Fletcher Mountain summit (13,943') via the SE Ridge, start at the Blue Lakes Trailhead, north of Hoosier Pass and past Quandary Peak TH. Reach it on CR-850, off CO-9. Once you start hiking it is a relatively short but steady, steep climb, some on grassy slopes and some on rock, some of it loose, but nothing harder than Class 2. 14ers.com reports (7/2025) that the Quandary Peak permit/shuttle system does not include the road to Blue Lakes or the Blue Lakes TH. Colorado Springs Utilities owns the dam on the Upper Lake and gates Blue Lakes Rd 3/4-mile below the dam but there is parking near the gate. Alternate Title: Fletcher Mountain + Drift Peak Traverse 5.5 miles, 2800' gain |
