Gore Range Trail

A challenging one-way hike from Copper to Frisco with 3000’ of elevation gain over a 12 mile hike, and a high point of 11,900’. The hike follows the Continental Divide Trail and Gore range trail in the Eagles Nest Wilderness area, and has wonderful views of 13ers and alpine lakes.

Park at the open space near the Conoco station across CO 91 from Copper Mountain.  Walk across CO 91, and follow the road over I-70.  Although you may see cars parked in the small area off the I-70 exit, parking is not allowed here.  Take the trail up the hill.  After 2.1 miles a side trail breaks off to Wheeler Lakes.  Continue up above treeline and past a lake to Uneva Pass, about 5.2 miles from the trailhead.  Continue along the trail down the pass to the northwest (don’t take the spur that heads northeast) to North Tenmile Trail.  Take North Tenmile trail down along North 10 mile creek to the North Tenmile Creek TH.
