Grass Creek Trail
The trail is in Evergreen, approaching the east side of Mt Blue Sky (Mt Evans) Wilderness. It is in a State Wildlife Area so every hiker needs a pass. A short way in is a bump known as Groundhog Flat.
Entrance to the Mount Evans SWA requires a valid state fishing, hunting, or public lands license for every visitor 16 years or older. Aside from this, there are no additional fees to use the area’s bathroom, picnic, parking, and camping facilities. The SWA borders the Mount Evans Wilderness Area section of the Arapaho National Forest.
NOTE: The SWA is open for hunting and fishing only from the day after Labor Day through the end of the 4th regular rifle season (mid November). Public access is prohibited altogether from January 1 through June 14.
This trail is open to the public only in July, August, and December. You MUST have an individual hunting or fishing license, or an SWA Pass on your person when you hike this trail. No exceptions. Go here for information: https://cpw.state.co.us/aboutus/Pages/fees.aspx#SWAFees
