Independence Pass Road
A Moderate 5.5 round trip out and back up the west side of Independence Pass. Approximately 1000' of elevation gain begins at the Difficult Trailhead and ends at the Grottos.
No need to fight motor homes on this trip! Park on the west side of Independence Pass east of Aspen at the winter closure. Ascend high above the valley along Colorado Hwy. 82 to the Grottos.
