IPW - Audubon-Paiute-Toll-Pawnee Traverse from/to Brainard Lake

13 miles, 4000' elevation gain, mostly class II, with a little class III, and one non-exposed class IV move. Summits four 13ers! Also called AuPaToPa, or the Blue Lake Traverse.

Indian Peaks Wilderness restrictions for permits, parking, and entry vary by season and trailhead. Go here for current information.

From the Mitchell Lake trailhead at Brainard Lake, follow the main trail up Mt. Audubon.  Then continue, rock-hopping down into and across the saddle to ascend Paiute.  Continuing on, down into a steep saddle before ascending Mt. Toll via a sparsely-cairned route.  Then down relatively easy terrain to roll over Pawnee before descending to the Pawnee Pass trail back to Brainard Lake.

From the summit of Audubon to Pawnee Pass is a long stretch of rock-hopping, with the crux being a single non-exposed 4th class move on the way up Toll.  Generally the terrain is class 2+.
