Monarch Lake Trailhead

Parking, restrooms, picnic tables and fishing are available at the trailhead, which is accessed on the western end of Monarch Lake via a 9 mile dirt road.  

Alternate Titles: 

Monarch Lake Loop - a well marked trail curving along the edge of Monarch Lake through the woods, crossing a few streams via small bridges. 4 miles, 213' gain

Continental Divide Trail Segments 65 and 66 meet at this TH, using sections of the Cascade Creek Trail and Arapaho Pass Trail.

Cascade Creek Trail: This trail leads southeast from Monarch Lake, following Cascade Creek and connecting with the CDT. 7.2 miles OB, 2016' gain.

Arapaho Pass Trail: Branching from the Cascade Creek Trail, this trail (USFS #6 / USFS # 904) ascends to Arapaho Pass, where it intersects with the CDT. 13 miles OB, 3612' gain.
