Mount Moss and Lavender Peak

This is a favorite but difficult hike of 8 miles with 3,800 feet of elevation gain. Venture through Tomahawk Basin to the triangulated magnificence fo Mount Moss and the mythical towers of Lavender Peak.

This demanding, off trail, exposed climb is suitable for proven scramblers. This rubble peak is the favorite hike of the authors of the La Plata Mountains Comprehensive Guide to Peaks and Trails. 

Mt Moss (13,195') and Lavender Peak (12,995') are grouped on 14'ers.com with Hesperus MtnBabcock Peak, Centennial Peak, and Spiller Peak, all within two miles of each other.
