North Table Mountain

Located in Golden, this popular mountain offers both rock climbing and hiking and biking trails. The crag offers both sport and trad routes for all levels. The South and West facing aspects make it a great sport for climbing in colder months.

Climbing:

Golden Cliffs has a high concentration of moderate routes under 5.11a. Most routes here are closely bolted and generally short (60 foot range), so a 50m rope and 10 quickdraws will be sufficient for most routes. Top rope routes are easily accessed by a couple of trails leading to the top of the cliffs. The climbing consists of vertical faces, technical cruxes, bulging aretes and even some cracks.

There is only a single trail leaving from each of the two parking lots, and it takes an obvious course up the hill to the cliffs above.

North Table Mountain Outer Loop: 7.5 miles, 1,100 feet of elevation gain

Overall, this is a nice mellow ride that feels somewhat remote, despite being right on the edge of town. There's a decent amount of climbing, so the ride isn't trivial, but it's not technical, and it's straightforward to follow.

North Table Mountain has multiple different routes/trails that can be linked up to make a ride of whatever length and elevation gain that you desire. There are areas of single and double track climbing, as well as single track downhill, rock gardens, and undulating traverses.
