Pattridge Park
Short and easy, nearly-on-the-flat out-and-back urban nature trail. Located in Pattridge Park Open Space, paralleling Leyden Creek and 82nd Avenue in west Arvada. Parking for nearby trails as well.
The Leyden Creek offers a nice alternative to the often busy trails closer to Boulder. From the Leyden Creek Trail, you get a nice view of the foothills between Golden and Boulder, and open grassland on low foothills up to an overlooking ridge.
The trail can be hiked as an out and back or you have the option to make a loop: Follow the Leyden Creek Trail for about a mile until you come to the signs for the City of Arvada and Leyden Creek Trail. At this point, you can continue the Leyden Creek Trail for another half mile or turn south and climb a steep trail to the top of the hill, then loop back to the origin point.
