Hiking and biking trails outside Cortez CO
From the BLM's website: "The Phil's World trail system sits atop a southwest desert mesa approximately four miles from Cortez, Colorado and consists of classic single track riding intermixed with segments of challenging slickrock. Trail difficulty ranges from beginner to intermediate. The majority of trails within the system are mildly technical with limited extended uphill sections." See also Phil's World Mountain Bike Trail, Cortez, Colorado which says "The front part of Phil's World is on State Trust Land that is leased and maintained by the Kokopelli Bike Club. The club asks riders that have not paid for an annual membership to drop $3/person in the paybox located at the start of the trail." There are 3 trail parking lots. The main one is on Rd 30.1 off of highway 160 to the east of Cortez.

- Look for the Montezuma County Fairgrounds: on Highway 160.
- Head east: on Highway 160 from Cortez.
- Turn north: onto Road 30.1, which is across from the fairgrounds.
