Poudre River Trail

The Poudre River Trail is a 45 mile nearly level paved trail that follows the Poudre River from Bellvue to Island Park in Greeley. There are multiple trailheads and side trail access points. Passes through primarily riparian ecosystems and by many historic irrigation diversion structures.

The Poudre River Trail is a joint project among Fort Collins, Larimer County, Timnath, Windsor, Weld County, and Greeley begun in 1972 and completed in 2026.  The relatively level paved bike/pedestrian trail passes through Fort Collins, Timnath, Windsor, and Greeley and is popular and often busy on weekends.

The route and trailheads are mapped here: Watson Lake, Lions Park, Lee Martinez Park, CSU Environmental Learning Center, Rigden Reservoir, River Bluff Open Space, Kyger Open Space, Eastman Park, Kodak (SR257), Poudre River Leaning Center, Poudre Ponds, and Island Park.

The trail is managed by a stand-alone non-profit inter-governmental organization, The Poudre River Trail Corridor, Inc.

AllTrails and Uncover Colorado have segment guides. Komoot does too, with focus on biking.
