Easily accessible 13er. Summit:13,461 feet. Elevation Gain: 3,650 feet. RT Distance: 7.00 miles
Drive 20 miles south on U.S. 24 ( from Leadville) turn right on the Chaffee County 390 road, continue 9.1 miles, passing the Missouri Gulch trailhead, to reach the Sheep Gulch TH on the right. Hike north into Sheep Gulch on the Colorado Trail. Stay right at a trail junction, sign for Hope Pass. The trail becomes less obvious above Hope Pass. Turn east to ascend Quail's rocky west ridge and gain the summit.
