Ridgway Area Trails (RAT)
Extensive looped hiking/biking trails near Ridgway, CO
RAT is a 25-mile network of single-track trails close to Ridgway. It's designed for both biking (beginner to advanced) and hiking. It includes a collection of named trails on rolling hills that may be combined into loops and is linked also to the Dennis Weaver Trail System, creating a total 40-miles of trails. Created and maintained by COPMOBA (CO Plateau Mtn Bike Trail Assn) volunteers. Overseen by BLM.
One of the shorter loops is about 8 miles with about 950 feet of elevation gain. One of the longer loops is about 17 miles. There are 3 parking areas for access to the trails: 1) on highway 550 across from the Ridgway State Park Dutch Charlie entrance, 2) on county road 10 close to highway 550 and 3) on county road 10B off of county road 10.
