RMNP - Deer Mountain

Hike through RMNP in aromatic pine forests and expansive meadows, with views of Long’s Peak, the Continental Divide, Moraine Park and the winding Big Thompson River.

Alternate titles:

Deer Mountain - Out and Back Trail - Start at the Deer Mountain TH and follow the Deer Mountain Trail south.  Follow the switchbacks to reach the summit. At the summit you will enjoy views of Longs Peak, Moraine Park, Upper Beavers Meadows, and Estes Park. Return the way you came. This route is 6 miles, 1400’ gain. 

Deer Mountain - Loop Trail - For a longer, loop hike: Start at Deer Mountain TH heading south on the Deer Mountain Trail but when leaving the summit continue south on the Deer Mountain Trail to the North Deer Mountain Trail, where you turn north and return to the TH.  This route is 12 miles, 2500’ gain.
