Rock Creek/Fox Creek Loop, Grotto Falls
Loop hike near Allenspark along Rock Creek through forest, meadows, and mining ruins, return on Fox Creek, and see the "Grotto" box canyon waterfall.
Hike starts right outside of Allenspark at the Fox Creek & Rock Creek Trail Loop (Cowbell Canyon Trail #932). There are great views of Longs Peak, and pass what is possibly the largest Ponderosa pine tree on the Front Range. Watch for wildlife such as mountain goats, moose, and elk. Great fall colors.
