Stillwell Tunnel - Liberty Bell Mine
A nice historic hike above Telluride. The Stillwell Tunnel supplies water to the Telluride water system and comes rushing out of the tunnel and over an impressive cliff, with scattered mining equipment all around.
Start at Tomboy Road off Oak Street in Telluride and walk/ride up the dirt Tomboy Rd and Liberty Bell Rd to the steep Jud Wiebe Trail #432, which climbs steeply for about a mile until the junction with the Liberty Bell Mine Trail. Passing through Liberty Bell Flats, previous site of a baseball field used by Liberty Bell Mine miners, then a left at another junction to arrive at Stillwell Tunnel.
Jud Wiebe Trail can also be done as a loop.
