Texas Creek Trail
12.4-mile out-and-back trail near Almont, Colorado.
Generally considered a challenging route, it takes an average of 5 h 20 min to complete. This is a popular trail for birding and hiking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The best times to visit this trail are June through September. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash. There is marshy flat campsites that are nice after 2.5 miles in. (from Alltrails.com)
The 4wd road coming from Taylor Park Reservoir to the trailhead is not well maintained and requires high clearance vehicle. Account for the extra time it will take to drive there it’s a long one.
