Willow Lakes

A challenging hike from Silverthorne, CO to Willow Lakes. At the end, you will be surrounded by the jagged peaks of the Gore Range (also known as the "Zodiac Spires"), and weather permitting, can take a cool (or more likely cold) dip in one of the lakes.

This is a beautiful but challenging hike from Silverthorne through forested trails leading to high alpine lakes.  The lakes are in the Eagles Nest Wilderness, managed by the USFS, but the TH is managed by Summit County.

The hike begins from the Willow Creek Trailhead (USFS #9154) also known as the Willowbrook TH on some maps), which is small and often very busy.  An early arrival is highly recommended.  There is overflow parking available at Trent Park, which will add an additional two miles roundtrip to the hike.

The trail starts on a short stretch of the Eagles Nest Ditch Access Trail.  After about .9 mile, turn left/west onto the North Willow Creek Trail, which after .7 miles joins the Gore Range Trail.  Eventually turn left/west onto the Willow Lake Trail and follow it 3.1 miles to the lakes, where the trail ends. Return the way you came.
