The hike to Zimmerman Lake in Roosevelt National Forest offers a beautiful, moderate trail through lush forests and rocky terrain. As you approach the lake, the serene waters reflect the surrounding mountains, making it a peaceful spot to relax.

The Zimmerman Lake/Montgomery Pass TH starts from CO-14, Poudre Canyon Road, north of Cameron Pass.  The trail to the lake is moderate, making it accessible for hikers of various skill levels, and is especially stunning in the summer with wildflowers in bloom and the tranquil waters of the lake reflecting the surrounding mountains. During the winter months, the area transforms into a playground for snowshoeing and backcountry Nordic skiing. For more adventurous explorers, the nearby Neota Wilderness offers excellent backpacking opportunities, with rugged terrain, pristine lakes, and abundant wildlife, perfect for those seeking a backcountry adventure.
