Expedition Winter Camp

Learn what it takes to be a mountaineer and explore the winter ecosystems of Colorado! Join the Colorado Mountain Club Youth Education Program for one day or a whole week of adventure! We will be rock climbing indoors & outdoors, ice skating, sledding, snow shoeing, and more! Each day will have a different theme and itinerary. Sign up for one day or multiple days. No previous experience required.

LEARN A NEW SKILL and enjoy a new theme each day!
  • MONDAY - December 18, 2023 (9AM-4PM)
    • 1st- 3rd - Base Camp at the AMC
  • AGE: 1st-3rd grade 

  • DESCRIPTION: Spend the day at the American Mountaineering Center climbing on our indoor rock wall, slacklining, and exploring our mountaineering museum.
  • COST: Monday Dec. 18th: Family Members - $70/day, Non-Members - $80/day

If you are unable to bring any of the items below, please let us know. CMC does have a few extra items that we are happy to loan out for the camp.

  • Clothes (comfortable clothing for climbing, hiking):
    • Loose fitting pants
    • T-shirt and a long sleeve shirt
    • Closed-toe, sturdy shoes
    • Sweater and/or warm layer  
    • Warm jacket  
    • Brimmed hat
    • Sunglasses  
    • Warm hat and gloves
    • Snow top layer
    • Snow bottom layer
  • Sunscreen and lip balm
  • Water bottle 
  • Personal Climbing Gear (optional)
  • Backpack large enough to carry all personal essentials for the day
  • Personal medications (inhaler, EPI pen, etc.) – please have all containers and bottles labeled and also listed on the medical forms
  • Camera (optional)
