GRG LIT Mentor Leaders
Mentor Leaders are current and experienced CMC Trip Leaders who volunteer to help prospective Trip Leaders (Leaders In Training - LIT) plan and conduct a LIT Trip as a requirement of the Trip Leader Certification.
The Leader Mentor
- Serves as the CMC Trip Leader (TL) for the trip as planned by the LIT
- Reviews the trip plan with the LIT to ensure it meets CMC LM standards
- Posts the trip online for the LIT (with or without the LIT present as coordinated)
- Serves as the actual Trip Leader for the trip - but lets the LIT complete all the normal TL tasks (with suggestions from the TL as needed - and in the event of any safety shortfalls)
- Debriefs the LIT after the trip is complete - and participants gone - with helpful feedback on what went well, what may need improvement, and what may require revisiting in the Leader Manual
- Closes the trip online with appropriate trip notes
- Completes the LIT feedback form and provides it to the LIT
