Windom Peak
Windom Peak is a 14'er in the Needle Mountains, near Durango.
Windom Peak (14,093'), the highest summit of the Needle Mountains, is located in the Weminuche Wilderness of the San Juan National Forest.
Climbing this peak sometimes is combined with neighboring peaks Mount Eolus and Sunlight Peak. Can make trip longer or shorter depending on TH.
Most frequently accessed via the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad to the Needleton stop (2.5 hrs), then hiking from the Needleton TH into the Chicago Basin.
