The new climbing wall at CMC Base Camp is now available for climbing. There have already been classes, a family climb, and on May 29th the first open climb hosted by Keith Stinebaugh from the Boulder Group.
Watch our build crew from Eldorado Climbing Walls in action:
The new wall will be a great venue for training as well as recreational climbing. In addition to top rope routes there are auto belays, sport lead bolts/draws, a ledge for rappel training, and fixed ropes for ascension training. Indoor climbing walls offer a safe, controlled environment for climbers of all skill levels to build strength, improve technique, and gain confidence. Whether you're training for outdoor adventures or just looking for a fun, full-body workout, indoor climbing provides year-round access to vertical challenges without the need to worry about weather or terrain. It’s also a great way to connect with a supportive community and explore the mental and physical benefits of climbing in a structured setting.
Keep an eye out on the events calendar for upcoming open climbs. Climbers should be comfortable top-rope belaying with a GriGri and have their own climbing harness and climbing shoes. Hope to see you there!

*Reminder*
Climbing on the wall must be done under the supervision of a certified Climbing Wall Leader (CWL). In addition, anyone wishing to reserve the wall must have a CMC Basecamp Certification Badge. To reserve the wall, submit a request for a reservation at least two weeks before the desired date. Once the date has been approved then the event may be posted as normal. One thing to be aware of, the wall must be under the visual supervision of a CWL Because the wall has two sides (east and west), two CWLs must be present to run both sides of the wall simultaneously. If only one CWL is present then only one side of the wall may be used at time.
