PPG BMS Basic Rock Climbing Equivalency Waiver

This is a skills test for experienced climbers to waiver out of PPG BMS Rock Climbing to gain access to trips and advanced classes. This is NOT a skills refresher. We expect you to show up and demonstrate proficiency in all of the skills we teach in our PPG BMS Rock Climbing Class.

Basic climbing knots
How to use a climbing helmet, harness, and belay device
How to tie into the rope
How to top rope belay using Pull-Brake-Under-Slide (PBUS) method
How to use climbing commands
How to rappel
How to ascend/descend a rope with a prusik
How to coil a climbing rope

Required Equipment: Climbing helmet, shoes, harness, locking carabiners, PAS and/or slings for rappel extension, 2 Prusik cords for rope ascending, and belay device.
