About the DEIB Committee

The CMC’s “DEI-B” state-level committee was created in 2023 to lead the CMC in becoming a better organization: one that is more welcoming to people of all backgrounds who love Colorado’s mountains. We have only just begun to work to promote diversity, equity and inclusion – and through improving all these areas to creating a heightened sense of belonging by all our members, employees, and guests.

Recently the term “DEI” has come under attack in some quarters. After careful reflection we have decided that the term is still wholly relevant and appropriate. If we spell out the acronym, we will realize that diversity, equity and inclusion are worthy, important goals to make our organization better and stronger.
