Once the nation’s smallest wildlife refuge, with free parking and entrance, Two Ponds National Wildlife Refuge is located in the heart of Arvada. Just 12 miles northwest of downtown Denver, and 18 miles southeast of Boulder, this urban refuge spans 72 acres that are home to more than 120 species of songbirds, raptors, waterfowl, coyotes, red fox, beaver, turtles, deer, and more. Come hike the landscape, listen to birdcalls, and see creatures native to this habitat. Discover the variety even a hidden gem within an urban outdoor recreational area offers.
