Ascending Hikes – Boulder Open Space

Flagstaff Mountain via Flagstaff Mountain Trail. Reviewers praise the stunning views and beautiful wildflowers. Challenges include steep sections and limited shade. Starting early and bringing plenty of water are recommended.

START: ASCENT: Chautauqua Trailhead => Baseline Trail => Gregory Canyon Trail => Crown Rock Trail => Flagstaff Trail => Ute Trail (Flagstaff Mountain) => DESCENT: Gregory Canyon  Trail => Meadow Trail => Chautauqua Trailhead. The ascending rout will require some 2nd class scrambling as the trail bounds over rocks and boulders. 

We'll meet at the Colorado Mountain Club, 15605 W. 32nd Avenue, Golden, CO 80401 at 6:00am, form carpools, and depart by 6:15am.

10 essentials - The hike will traverse open terrain with plenty of sunshine exposure. I recommend bringing sunscreen, sun glasses, wide brimmed hat and plenty of liquids/electrolytes.
