Ascending Hikes – Evergreen Mountain

We'll be hiking the south side of the Alderfer / Three Sisters Park, making our way to the summit of Evergreen Mountain along a loop trail. We'll ascend using the Evergreen Mountain East trail and return using the West trail. The hike will start from the East Trailhead parking area. The summit is at 8,527 ft and has some nice views. We'll find a sunny spot at or near the summit to stop for lunch/snack. Our pace will be determined by the strength, stamina, and endurance of the group. This is a multi-use trail, so we may encounter the occasional mountain bike rider. (Evergreen Mtn Loop - CalTopo)

The Colorado Mountain Club's Ascending Hike Section (AHS) provides an opportunity to make new friends and explore new places in Colorado's backcountry, while increasing your personal hiking speed, strength, and stamina. The section is administered by CMC volunteers.  There is no cost, fee, or scheduling commitment.  There are no dues or elections.  Open to all CMC members.  To join the section, contact the CMC office.

Carpool Place & Time: Meet at Wooly Mammoth PnR (Section HH) 7:15am and depart by 7:30am (Wooly Mammoth Park-N-Ride - Google Maps)
