This is a companion hike to the Mt Helen's hike on the day before: in the same area, but less strenuous and on a trail. We'll hike up Spruce Creek Trail past a great waterfall and close-up mining ruins. Continuing on, we'll explore a series of lakes above timberline.
This trip is at the end of October, so be prepared for some wind, cold temperatures, and residual snow on the ground. Check out the Required Equipment Section below.
It should be pretty - there will be time for pictures and enjoying the comaraderie of your fellow hikers. If you need to go fast, please look for another hike.
Meet at Wooly Mammoth (Wooly Mammoth Park-N-Ride, 18560 US-40, Golden) Section BB at 6:00 for a 6:15 departure. If you wish to meet at the trailhead, please contact the leader.
